Westlake senior citizens have enjoyed assisted independent living with a country club atmosphere ever since Club West opened in 1988. Throughout the years, Club West evolved into an assisted living facility and became known as Alterra Wynwood, then Cypress Gardens at Westlake, and most recently, as The Gardens at Westlake. We visited recently with The Gardens' Director of Marketing and listened as they outlined the amenities available at The Gardens of Westlake;
The Gardens at Westlake is a premier senior living community offering both independent and assisted living services in a warm, friendly, home-like environment. Our services and amenities are designed to nurture our residents physically, emotionally, and socially, while encouraging independence and providing opportunities for growth and socialization.
Our over-sized suites are available in a wide range of unique floor plans ranging from one bedroom suites to loft apartments and deluxe two bedroom suites. Each bedroom has an attached bathroom, and every suite has either bay windows, a balcony, or patio offering a beautiful view of the woods, creek, trails, and wildlife that surrounds us. A carport is available for residents with automobiles, and our residents are encouraged to have small pets.
We provide personalized service plans including regular assessments with licensed nurses on-site 16 hours a day. Our Director of Health Services is a Licensed Nurse and physicians are available for on-site visits. We have physical, speech, and occupational therapists in-house, and we offer assistance with grooming and other personal care needs, an emergency call system, incontinence care, management of medication, and diabetic assistance.
Nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks are provided, as is scheduled transportation for shopping, activities, and medical appointments. We have an on-site beauty/barber shop, an in-house chapel, craft rooms, computers, and a studio exercise area. Included in the monthly fee are housekeeping and laundry service, all utilities except telephone and cable, and a full calendar of activities, wellness programs, and community outings.
Our residents enjoy restaurant-style dining. Residents choose their meals from our menu and are served at their table. For those times when you don't want to eat in the dining room, your meals can be delivered to you, or you can prepare your own meal in your suite. Each suite includes a kitchen equipped with full size stove and refrigerator, in addition to a mini dining area.
Respite care is available in one of our many furnished apartments and we have overnight suites for family members visiting from out of town and needing a place to stay.
