Bob and Linnea Koskey founded Koskey's Turf Management in Sheffield Lake in 1983. The Koskey's business is modeled after the quality values of Bill Varga, former owner of Varga's Greenhouse. Bill was a well-respected landscaper, known for completing jobs properly without cutting any corners. Once his apprentice, Bob continues to follow Bill's high standards by providing a top quality job.

While working for Bill, Bob often joked that he'd like to build a house at the back of the property where Bill kept his piles of top soil. After Bill passed away and the greenhouses were sold, a developer began to build homes where the greenhouses formerly stood. Bob and Linnea always admired the Westlake community, and decided to move their home and business from Sheffield Lake to Westlake. Today, the Koskeys continue to reside in a house that stands on the same site where Bill Varga had his greenhouse. We stopped by Koskey's Turf Management recently, and listened as Bob and Linnea outlined their company's offerings;

Koskey's Turf Management offers a complete selection of landscaping services. Our company specializes in landscape design and lawn maintenance, as well as landscape, lawn, and patio installations. We also build retaining wall systems and lay paver patios. Our lawn maintenance services include mowing, trimming, clean-ups, fertilization programs, and core aeration. In the wintertime, we offer dormant pruning of shrubs and trees. By thinning out the plants, we extend their lifespan which prevents our customers from needing to replace their plants as often.

For certain lawn installation and renovations, we encourage customers to do a renovation as opposed to a complete tear-out of the grasses. It not only saves you money, but also can make the lawns look like they're brand new in many cases. We're always looking for the best possible value for your dollars. The majority of our business comes from referrals from satisfied customers. Our ratio of residential and commercial work is 80% and 20% respectively. One aspect of the business that I take pride in is being on each and every job personally. Accordingly, I ensure that I am hands-on in each project and that my co-workers are fully qualified.
