When she was still a nurse, Pat Lehman produced educational video tapes for Fairview Hospital which she would then distribute throughout the United States. As she traveled the country distributing these programs and giving speeches, producers of other hospital and university programs asked if she could handle the distribution of their programs, too. With a friend, Pat created a distribution company that, at its peak, distributed programs for 29 hospitals and the University of British Columbia. Mailing in the vicinity of a million brochures a year, Pat decided to purchase the necessary equipment and to handle the mailings herself.
After hospital budgets for staff and patient education were drastically reduced in the mid-1980s, Pat began to offer her mailing services to other businesses, and in 1987 formed Mailpouch Mailing Service. Since that time, Mailpouch has garnered not only an impressive list of loyal clients, but also a reputation for service and quality that's second to none. We visited recently with Pat and Mailpouch's soon-to-be-owner Mark Winkelmann and listened as they explained how their services can save time, aggravation, and money for anyone sending over 200 mailers at a time;
Mailpouch Mailing Service specializes in all facets of bulk mailing. We offer addressing, folding and collating, envelope insertion, and presorting for bulk mailings of catalogs, sales fliers, newsletters, as well as personalized letters. We're one of the few mailers that accept mailings anywhere from 200 pieces, which is the Post Office minimum for bulk mailing, all the way up to half a million pieces without blinking an eye.
Once we have your mailing list, we run it through specialized software that assigns bar codes, prints the paperwork, tags, and then prints the delivery address directly onto the piece to be mailed. We can also create personalized letters addressing the recipient by name simply by merging your mailing list with the body of your letter and then printing the letter on your letterhead stationary. From there, it's taken to a machine that will fold the letter, stuff it in an envelope, seal it, and apply the postage.
We also offer tabbing of self-mailers to enable you to take advantage of the postage savings available for bar-coded, automated mailings. For example, we can take your 8½" by 11" sheet of paper, fold it, tab it, and place the address, bar code, and postage right on the outside of the paper, saving the use of an envelope. If you have a mailing that is currently costing thirty-seven cents per piece, we can automate that mailing and get your postage down to less than half of what you're currently paying. Not only do you save an incredible amount of money on the postage, you also save the time and aggravation you would normally spend stuffing the envelopes.
By having your mailings done by Mailpouch Mailing Service, you know that your mail is definitely going to get to its intended destination, and it's going to get there fast. In addition to automated mail moving faster, our software ensures that each piece has a deliverable address. It's not unusual for automated mail to be delivered faster than your first class letters sent with thirty-seven cents postage.
When you get an invoice from Mailpouch Mailing Service, it will always include a copy of the postal paperwork. This paperwork is stamped by the Post Office, and tells you the day the job went out, exactly how many pieces were mailed, and exactly how much you paid in postage. This is your assurance that we've done exactly what we said we'd do, when we said we'd do it.
