Orthopaedic Associates is a professional association of orthopaedic surgeons that was founded in Lakewood in the late 1960s. Due to a merger in 1997, they expanded their offices at 24723 Detroit Road to better serve the rapidly growing population in Westlake and the surrounding communities. We were recently given a tour of their Westlake office while Practice Administrator Allan A. Fentner and Operations Manager Nilda Medina-Gonzalez outlined their offerings;

Orthopaedic Associates is one of the largest, most established private orthopaedic groups serving residents of Western Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties. Our physicians represent the major orthopaedic sub-specialties and are Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Our Board Certified orthopaedic surgeons specialize in sports medicine, spinal surgery, pediatrics, joint replacement, trauma, and hand and upper extremity surgery, as well as general orthopaedics. We also offer on-site physical/occupational therapy and open MRI testing.

Orthopaedic Associates presently has offices in Lakewood, Westlake, and Sheffield Village with hospital privileges at St. John West Shore Hospital, Lakewood Hospital, and Fairview Hospital. In March 2005 we will be opening a new facility in Avon at the intersection of Rte. 83 and Chester Road. Our patients come to us both as referrals from their primary care physician and by calling us directly to schedule an appointment.

Our physicians serve as the team physicians for several local high schools. We realize the importance of staying involved in community service activities within the communities we serve, and we're active participants in local blood drives and various charitable events throughout the year.
