After thirty years in the grocery business, Nick Nasrallah was ready for a career change. He decided to couple his retail experience with his hobby, and to become known as this area's source for fine wines and world-class cigars. He originally opened his shop in Lakewood and in October 2001, relocated it to Detroit Road in Westlake. Together with Manager Bob Mazzolini, Nick has built The Fine Wine & Tobacco into a one-of-a-kind wine specialty shop, to the delight of wine, beer, and cigar aficionados throughout Cleveland's West side. We stopped in at The Fine Wine & Tobacco earlier this week and listened and Nick and Bob described their unique offerings;

At The Fine Wine & Tobacco, fine wine and good cigars are not only the products we offer, they're also our passion. We carry a wide selection of the finest wines, beers, champagnes and sparkling wines, rare and special wines, cordials, liqueurs, and cigars from around the world. We also have a full line of accessories that range from ashtrays and lighters to cigar cutters, humidors, wine openers, foil cutters, bottle carriers, and custom made gift baskets. We research and locate hard-to-find wines for our customers and we host wine tastings to help them become familiar with wines they have not previously experienced.

We stock over 1,700 wines from around the world including those from France, Italy, Germany, Spain, South America, and Australia. Everyone is surprised to see the selection we have and if we don't have a wine that a customer is searching for, we'll go the extra mile and locate it for them.

Each week we host a wine tasting on Saturday from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. where we feature ten wines from different countries. We present the wines and either a wine connoisseur or wine maker will answer questions about the wine and the region it's from. In addition to tasting the various wines, our guests are served a variety of appetizers including cheeses and fruits. We're also available for wine tasting events for charities and in private homes.

The Fine Wine & Tobacco carries over 500 different beers with selections not only from United States micro-breweries, but also Canada, Belgium, England, Italy, Mexico, Germany, India, and Southeast Asia. These outstanding beers include domestic brews, micro brews, and imported beers. Throughout the summer, we hold beer tastings to help educate our customers about the selections we carry.

Our selection of cigars include the 50 best cigars in the world. We have a 12' x 20' humidor and we hold cigar tastings three or four times each year.

Our customers come from Westlake, Bay Village, Rocky River, Avon, and Avon Lake and every day we have customers come in who have never been here before. As soon as they see how large our store is, how neatly everything is displayed, and our huge selection of beers, wines, and cigars, they can't believe they didn't find us sooner!
